April Planting

Hello April! It’s time to get out and start shaping that garden! With all the extra time on our hands, this is the perfect opportunity to get your garden started.. beginner or expert! Here are some things you can do in the beginning of April to start a successful garden, vegetable garden, or landscape.

It’s now time to plant those cool season annuals like pansies, violas, lobelia, or snapdragons. These do great in colder weather and tolerate frost well and can even do well in pots. It’s also a good time to plant those shrubs, bareroot trees, and roses.

If you’re starting your vegetable garden this year then go ahead and get your broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, radishes, and greens planted. And if fruit is more your style, plant some raspberries, strawberries, and rhubarb.

Now is a good time to transplant and divide those summer perennial plants so they can thrive this summer too!

If your grass is in need of some spot filling, throw down some grass seed on those bare spots.

Starting these projects now are sure to give you a plentiful flower garden and fruit and veggie garden!
